Under normal circumstances, all eyes would be on Mudryk, instead, he’s an afterthought given the sheer number of narratives in play.
If he keeps riding the bench without a minute – as he did yesterday – people are going to start talking, however. We spent too much money on him to not see him regularly in action, even in these first few months of his 8 year contract.
But tomorrow night should be a chance for him to get back on track, with Raheem Sterling in line for a rest after his return to action.
Mudryk has exceptional competition for minutes not just from Sterling but also from Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Christian Pulisic and so on, so he can’t afford to waste any more minutes once he’s out on the pitch.
